Las Vegas receives more tourists than nearly any other area in the world, with gaming and gambling enthusiasts as well as entertainment buffs coming to visit the area on a regular basis, providing endless amounts of revenue for the local economic engine. In the case of the Las Vegas hotels and casinos, revenue has increased not only from the domestic market but from international travelers who have come from all around the world to enjoy the entertainment and extravaganza provided by the Las Vegas area. There is such an increased amount of vacationing visitors to the area that the Las Vegas shows that are so popular have reported record income and revenue from visitors intent on enjoying the Las Vegas vacation and making the area their home for a few days for their limited vacation time. With the emphasis on bringing in as many vacationing visitors and tourists to the area as possible, these Las Vegas shows and the assorted attractions that are home on the Las Vegas strip have so much to offer and there is so much to do and participate in that they have achieved a life and an impetus all their own. Bringing in more and more visitors from around the world, the famous Las Vegas shows have made their mark and have resounded very strongly with visitors and vacationing families in the area. With this extreme popularity and tremendous drawing power on travelers from all around the world, it is not surprising that the Las Vegas shows have drawn such a record number of international visitors.
While the Las Vegas establishment proprietors have been somewhat concerned that the downturn in the domestic economy caused by the slumping real estate market might have a negative impact on the Las Vegas area, these fears have proven unfounded as more and more international visitors come to the area and fill the gaps left by the reduced amount of domestic revenue generated from local tourism. As the United States begins to make a turnaround from this economic difficulty, it becomes readily apparent that the Las Vegas area has managed to adapt to a different method of advertising and promotion to bring in visitors from the international and global community worldwide. With this focus on bringing visitors from new areas around the world that are not traditionally strong sources of tourism to the area, Las Vegas has managed to be flexible and adapt to the needs of a new target demographic, successfully providing a new source of incoming revenue.
